Au Revoir

Our French adventure is over for this time.

I'm not ready to go back to work and everyday life

- it was hard to leave France.

The last photos from my trip - I promise!

Picnic Quilt

It took me one year to finish the Picnic quilt,

but now it's finally done.

 

I'm pleased with how it turned out.

A mix of vintage sheets, embroidery and new fabrics,

just the way I like it.

 

The back is made of light green and white gingham.

I like to know, that my thrift finds have a story
- it would be so interesting to know some of the stories

I like cross stitch alphabets.
Maybe there are old fashioned, but I like them.
When I see a name on the work, I know, there is a story behind the name.

 I would like to have my own cross stitch alphabet one day.
I like a mix of different fonts like this one from Supertanten.
    

one of my favorite things to do in summer is to vist the flea market in Tisvildeleje

I love this lovely little city

a city full of life in the summer and quiet in the winter

I love it all time a year, but mostly in summertime

one of the local shops with a lot of great vintage finds

flowers for my mother

lovely coffeshops, flea market, vintage shops, yarn shop

I will go there again soon, perhaps we'll meet....?

rosy little cups

for only 5$

the cups are perfect as table decoration

and I will use them for desserts too

I'm sure they will look good with chocolate mousse

todays  purchase from one of the local charity shops

a vintage sewing table

it reminds me of my childhood

the basket underneath the table is perfect for yarn

it's a peachy monday here

my weekly day off 

home alone in a quiet house

just me and the table

spring is in the air

I should perhaps be out and enjoy the sun
(....I went for a ride on my bike earlier today)

what I needed most was time with my good friend, Bernina

I still haven't started my yellow quilt project
I better find the last fabrics and get started

the top for a vintage picnic quilt

time to find fabric for the back
- but first I need a cup of tea and a piece of fruity bread with cheese
and then a walk in the sun

tomorrow it's back to work for three days and then easter break
