September is the month for Culture Night in my town -

Au Revoir

Yellow and purple

I'm in France with my dear husband as we did in November last year. A break from daily life and parenthood. 

We live in a small village, Les Baux, by Mont Ventoux. The nights are darker than black and you can't hear a sound.

Annabel Cardigan

It took me one week to knit sweet Annabel.

I enjoy every single stitch, that I knitted.

It's a great knit project.

The yarn is perfect, I like the colour.

I have never knitted a cardigan

and tried it on with such as pleasure as Annabel.

This friendship will last!

Our youngest daughter is playing photographer

and we had so much fun.

I used two strands of yarn -

tweed/alpaca mix and merino/cashmere.

I have to knit one more,

but first I have a shawl to finish 

(...and a few other knit projects....).

I enjoy my shawl project too,

I have missed my knitting mojo

and I intend to enjoy every single minute.

Today it's a wonderful late summer day in DK,

but I'm longing for colder days.

I'm longing for soup, woolie socks,

candles and so many crafty things to do inside.

Until then I just enjoy the best I can.

Sunday and finally vacation

Hanging over breakfast Sunday morning and

 I suddenly realize, that my best quilt ideas

have been my vacation quilt projects, 

like Rosy Summer and Blue Sea

(the only vacation quilts I still have).

It came to me when I got an idea for a baby quilt. 

I forgot all about my breakfast and had to find

fabrics to match the quilt. 

It took me only two minutes to find the perfect fabrics.

It's a bit scary to see, how easy it is for me to craft,

when I'm on vacation.

Even if it's scary, I'm glad to see, how easy I relax, when I'm off.

I only wish, I could have a more creative - and maybe - 

crafty job.

The pleasure of snail mail

 

 



 

A peaceful tuesday afternoon in june.

I'm preparing snail mail to a friend -

I hope, she will enjoy my gift.



 

As connected as we are - thanks to email -

there still is nothing like the sensation

of receiving or writing a handwritten letter

or a heartfelt snail mail gift.

 

I love the feeling, when I receive an un-expected envelope or box.

I know, that what's inside will make my day and make me happy.

 

I love the feeling, when I find just the right gift to give away

and I know, that the receiver will like it.

 

It's a gift to have pen pals in your life.

My monday off

A glimpse from my sunny monday off.

It's a good day and it's mine alone - at least until my family gets home.
Dinner is made - indian meatballs with lots of spices.

 

Massage and yoga were my best friends last week.

Just what I needed to get more energy.

I promise myself to make a few yoga exercises home every day.

 

I have spoiled myself with this lovely yarn reminding me of raspberries.
 



 

 

My friend, Vibeke, has inspired me again. This time with the very lovely Levenwick.

I had planned to knit a yellow one,

but since yellow were not in stock that day, I choose this very summerish colour.

(I was unable to leave the store without yarn.....)

The colour reminds  me of sweet summer raspberries -

which I bought to make muffins today.

 

...I better finish this one,

before I start a new knit project.....

 

I just have a teeny weeny problem -

my tension headache gets back, when I knit.

I really try to breathe and relax my shoulders, but....

One of the reasons that yoga home is a great idea.

 

 

I will continue enjoying this wonderful day.

Bake, make yoga, sew. knit in the garden and tonight hanging out with

one of our best friends. A friend we don't see very often,

so his unexpected visit is a joy.

..back from Rome

 

Last Christmas my husband gave me a weekend to Rome

- the first weekend in May, our first Rome visit.

 

I want to share just a few photos with you.



Rome, sunny days, good food and wine, time and love -

Joy

I enjoy the Easter break very much,

I just wish, it was a bit warmer.....

 

The lovely Easter wood ornaments are from a local tea shop.

The owner of the shop told me, that they would also order Christmas ornaments!



 

 

Now it's time to knit, watch a movie (Beck - a Swedish crime story - one of my favourites!) -

but first I have to make some popcorn.

Easter break

 

I need cheerful colours and prints

- and these tiny projects reminds me of easter and spring.

A perfect colour theme for my crafty spirit.



Many of my crafty friends are passionate tea drinkers.

I think, this small an easy idea is a great way to re-use the tea tin.

I use the tin for needle pins, when it's empty.



 

...all you have to do is to make a fabric flower and glue it on the tin.

My hubby and I started the day with a long walk in the forrest round a lake.

We brought tea and enjoyed the silence.

A great way to start the easter break.

I would like to make a lot of paper stuff this year.

My crafty soul is awake.

It's a great feeling

and I intend to enjoy every second.

No one knows, what tomorrow brings......

That's one thing I know for sure!

 

I spend a lot of time in my craft room,

while I dream of new projects and new ideas.

I still try to de-stash and clean up,

I need to get rid of some of my crafty stuff.

I need space, but most of all I need time for myself.

these small de-stash projects are good for me

I like knitted socks very much,

and usually I don't like to knit the second sock.

You should try to knit socks in thicker yarn

- then it takes no time to knit yourself a pair. Promise!

organizing

I need to organize my craft room,

I'm scared of getting lost there.

I've been accumulating stash for the past 30 years,

so I have a large collection of fabrics, yarn, craft books, paper, vintage stuff

and much more

I know, that I need to do a very serious cleaning up some day.

I'm afraid, that it's about time.....

....but not today. Just a little bit....

The problem is, that I'm very attached to every tiny fabric scrap, string of yarn or.....

Sometimes I find a scrap from one of our girls dresses or from an old curtain

- it fills me with joy.

...does anyone out there, have a similar problem....!?

Christmas is over for now,
