Alma Olsen

..who was she? ....did she made this lovely needlework..!?
I hope, she had a long and happy life

I like to know, that my thrift finds have a story
- it would be so interesting to know some of the stories

I like cross stitch alphabets.
Maybe there are old fashioned, but I like them.
When I see a name on the work, I know, there is a story behind the name.

I would like to have my own cross stitch alphabet one day.
I like a mix of different fonts like this one from Supertanten.

Thank you for sharing. I agree that it is something beautiful to find a piece of history like that. There is definitely a story there. And the workmanship is beautiful too.

  4. Happy New Year Mette! Beautiful cross stitch. I've never tried it, but I do appreciate all the work (and eye strain!) involved. It is wonderful to have something created by another woman so long ago, and now it is yours to cherish.
