Buttercups and sherberts quilt top

"The hardest test in life
is the patience
to wait for the right moment"

Todays was the right moment to sew the quilt top.

I love to make the puzzle of squares before sewing the quilt top,
but this time I skipped the puzzle.
I sew the squares together one by one - just picking the square on top every time
without knowing the print or color of the next square in the bundle.

It was like painting the loveliest flower garden in a fairytale.

Cheerful colors and happy prints - I love this quilt top

Workshop

A few (...blurry..) pictures from the workshop at my home last weekend
- (how to finish and bind a quilt).
It was such a great day!

Knot quilting with cotton yarn.

Yeeha, put on the gloves and quilt freestyle!

A lot of tips and how tos -
I can't wait to see the quilts after the binding.

Patchwork mojo

A couple of weeks ago my Scrappy Tree quilt
was published in a Danish magazine - Hendes Verden.

I also made a note cover.

Beside me, Line Galst,  Pernille Ruskjær and Karen Marie Dehn contributed with some of their patchwork projects too.

Thank you so much for inviting me to participate, Karen Marie.

Scrappy-Happy-Summer-Quilt

Blowing in the wind -
cheerful colors and prints.
The quilt top is done, so far so good.

I wish, you could see the fabrics IRL.

It's warm and sunny in Denmark, but I have spent 20 hours
by the sewing machine the past four days.

It has been worth it.
Now I have to choose batting and fabric for the back.

Quilt - Scrappy Triangles

My second selfish-sewing-week was a success.
Yesterday I finished this Scrappy Triangles Quilt -
and I'm pleased.

When I start a quilt, I usually know,
how I want it to be, but not this time.
I knew for sure, that I wanted to make scrappy triangles,
but I didn't want a quilt full of triangles.

I started out by making the "triangle trees" and then I builded the rest of the quilt with pieces of light colored fabrics.
I choose the wrong side of some of the pieces to get the right expression to the quilt.

The size is app. 110 x 115 cm.

...with a twist of yellow

Today I finished my latest sewing project
and I'm pleased the way this quilt turned out.

I love the texture, that free motion quilting creates.
I recommend you to buy a pair of quilting gloves,
if you wanna try free motion quilting.
The gloves make it much easier to quilt.

The back of the quilt is white with a stripe of gingham.

It's such a pleasure to see a well done project blowing in the wind.

Sunday and finally vacation

Hanging over breakfast Sunday morning and
I suddenly realize, that my best quilt ideas
have been my vacation quilt projects,
(the only vacation quilts I still have).

It came to me when I got an idea for a baby quilt.
I forgot all about my breakfast and had to find
fabrics to match the quilt.
It took me only two minutes to find the perfect fabrics.

It's a bit scary to see, how easy it is for me to craft,
when I'm on vacation.
Even if it's scary, I'm glad to see, how easy I relax, when I'm off.

I only wish, I could have a more creative - and maybe -
crafty job.

I wish you all a lovely Sunday,
just like mine.

I think, I will invite my family to east fish by the sea tonight.

Just a few glimpse from my crafty life.

Picnic Quilt

It took me one year to finish the Picnic quilt,
but now it's finally done.

I'm pleased with how it turned out.

This is the quilt collection so far -
Picnic quilt
Blue Sea (inspired by our vacation in Portugal 3 years ago)

This photo reminds me of the Spring time, we all need so much.
Cheerful colours and sunshine.

A mix of vintage sheets, embroidery and new fabrics,
just the way I like it.

The back is made of light green and white gingham.

....do you like quilts too!?

spring is in the air

I should perhaps be out and enjoy the sun
(....I went for a ride on my bike earlier today)

what I needed most was time with my good friend, Bernina

I still haven't started my yellow quilt project
I better find the last fabrics and get started

the top for a vintage picnic quilt

time to find fabric for the back
- but first I need a cup of tea and a piece of fruity bread with cheese
and then a walk in the sun

enjoy this wonderful day
tomorrow it's back to work for three days and then easter break
